FAQ'S
How long will it take to groom my dog?
All dogs have different personalities and different breeds take different lengths of time, however I normally like to have 2 hours for each dog to complete the groom, and for some larger breeds I like to have 3 hours per dog to complete the groom. This allows me to complete all of the work included in the groom and tailor to your dogs individual needs.
How much will it cost to get my dog groomed?
Please take a look at my Price List.
When is your next available appointment?
All appointments can be found pinned at the top of my Facebook page, alternatively call or text 07940 265766, or send a E-Mail.
When can my puppy be groomed?
Your puppy can be groomed as soon as it has had all of their puppy vaccinations. I like to have puppies in as soon as possible after they are fully vaccinated for a puppy introduction, see Services, to build a bond with your puppy and form a positive association with the salon and the grooming process. This applies to all breeds.
Can you groom my elderly, deaf or blind dog?
Yes! of course. I will take my time whilst working with your dog. They would have extra breaks, their comfort is my main priority, doing as much or as little as they can manage without causing any stress.
Do you groom large and giant breeds of dog?
Yes! of course, all breeds are welcome from tiny dogs to giant dogs.
Can you handstrip my dog?
Yes! of course, as long as your dogs coat is suitable for handstripping. Handstripping is suitable for wire haired breeds, such as terriers, I am also able to handstrip spaniels.
Will handstripping hurt my dog?
No! when done correctly it is painless. Handstripping is a good option for wire haired breeds such as Schnauzers, Jack Russles, Border Terriers ect. as it keeps the harsh texture and vibrant colours of the coat.
Can you groom my pregnant dog?
No!, I will not groom any dog that is pregnant or suspected to be pregnant, or nursing puppies.
Do I need to prepare or supply anything for my dogs groom?
All I ask is that you toilet your dog before entering the salon and please arrive promptly for your grooming appointment, and when collecting your dog after their appointment.
Will my dog be put in a cage or holding pen?
I have two spacious holding pens for health and safety purposes and emergencies. I only use this if I have a dog that doesn't mix well with others, for example. Once your dog has been groomed and awaiting collection, they will be allowed to roam the salon and outside play area.
My dog has sensitive skin and can get irritated after washing, can you use an alternative shampoo?
Yes! of course, I have a soothing shampoo's in stock which are formulated for dogs to help soothe dry and itchy skin, these also help with to balance and re-moisturize the skin and coat.
If you have your own vet prescribed or medicated shampoo that you would rather be used, that is absolutely fine too. Just let me know when you arrive for your groom.
Can I stay with my dog?
Customers are not allowed to stay or enter the salon's grooming area, while your dog is being groomed as it can distract the dog. You are more than welcome to wait in the car park if you wish.
My dog is knotty, can I keep their coat long?
I groom within the guidelines of the Animal Welfare Act 2006. This act states that animals must be ''free of pain and discomfort, suffering and disease'' this means that as a dog groomer I must NOT perform any procedure which may cause pain and suffering, therefore if your is severely knotty or matted I will have no choice but to clip it all off and start again. With regular grooming appointments we can grow the coat again and find a suitable coat length and style that suits both your dog and your life style.
If your dog has bad or severe matting I will NOT put your dog through lengthy brushing to remove the knots or matting, as this is inhumane and against my working ethics.
There is an additional charge for de-matting, and matted dogs, this fee depends on the severity of the matting, as this takes extra time to remove the knots and matting, which damages my equipment.
I will also ask that every customer that brings a dog with knotting and/or matting MUST read, agree with, sign and understand the salons de-matting policy. A copy of this policy can be found here.
How do you take payment?

How can I change, re-schedule or cancel my dog's appointment?
Please read my Cancellation and Re-scheduling Policy.
How often does my dog need to be groomed?
It depends on your dogs coat type and breed and your lifestyle. Most breeds with hair that requires trimming are groomed on a 6-8 weekly schedule.
