De-Matting Policy

Here at JAIE'S Professional Dog Grooming, I  abide by the Animal Welfare act 2006. I will always put your dog's welfare needs first, before any vanity or beauty. This MAY mean that your dog will NOT be groomed to breed standard or your preferred groom.

Please understand that I will not try and brush out tight knots or matts out. This is extremely painful and uncomfortable for your dog and will make their grooming experience a negative one.

JAIE'S Professional Dog Grooming may need to clip your dog's coat/hair/fur VERY short with a 7f (3.2mm), 10f (1.5mm) or in severe cases a 30f (0.5mm) clipper blade if your dog's coat/hair/fur is tightly knotted and/or matted.

A matted/tightly knotted coat/hair/fur lengthens the time needed to complete the groom. It makes the grooming process more difficult, and I must take in to consideration the dog's overall comfort and safety during the groom. It adds excessive wear and tear on my equipment. For these reasons the final cost of the groom WILL BE INCREASED.

Irritation to the dog's skin may be caused when removing severe matting/tight knots. In some cases, Haematomas can occur once the matting has been removed..

 JAIE’S Professional Dog Grooming, may take your dog's photo as evidence and also use on social media, and for advertising purposes.
